Joe Wisdom Added to Thoroughbreds Staff as Executive Director of Programs Over the past year, the Thoroughbreds Soccer Club has undergone significant growth with a 16% increase in Camp programs participants. Between all of our programs, tournaments, and Club teams, our volunteer Board oversees a nonprofit budget of several hundred thousand dollars annually and has become a relatively large undertaking for a group of dedicated volunteers.
Thoroughbreds Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Joe Wisdom as Executive Director of Programs. He will work closely with General Manager, Dale Helfrich. Joe’s responsibilities will focus on the development and administration of new programs. Joe is currently a Thoroughbreds coach for U10 Boys and U11 Girls, Coaching Director for Oldham County Youth Soccer Association, State Olympic Development Coach, and Director for the Derby Cup Soccer Tournament. He also started and is directing the Thoroughbreds Soccer Academy. His position will be part time.
On Wednesday night (2-27), Thoroughbreds SC hosted a night of soccer education for local soccer coaches. A great crowd was on hand to observe two nationally recognized coaches as they worked with Thoroughbreds SC teams in a training environment.
Coach Mike Dickey, a US Soccer National Staff coach was on hand and did two training sessions and Adrian Parrish, Kentucky’s State Director of Coach and Player Development was also on hand to work with the teams. Both coaches did a great job of working with the players, as well as educating the coaches on hand in new techniques and ideas for making the local soccer players better.
Thoroughbreds SC plan on making this an annual event and are very grateful to their sponsor, Oldham County YMCA Indoor Sports Arena for helping make the night a huge success!
